About Our First Meal
Our inaugural dinner tool place at the residence of Vail and Greg, two eco-conscious farmers who live in the breathtaking surroundings of Portland's wildlife refuge known as Sauvie Island. Their modern farm house and rescue sanctuary sits on 5 acres of land overlooking the majestic Mount St. Helens.
Using a portion of the farm's winter produce, professional chefs Patrick Mannion and Jon Tancinco created a four-course family style meal inspired by the flavors of the Pacific NW. All proceeds for the event went to the Barn at the Croft, a rescue sanctuary at the site of the dinner that works to protect and rehabilitate mistreated and neglected farm animals.
About the Croft
The Croft is a quaint island farm located in Sauvie Island where the Willamette and Columbia rivers converge. Owned and operated by Vail and Greg, an eco-conscious farmer and professor who are committed to harvesting organically grown fruits and vegetables. On the farm, they run a rescue sanctuary, their very-own CSA and an up-and-coming local Cider distillery.
About the Chefs
Patrick and Jon have been making magic happen in the kitchen for over a decade. Portland Monthly says "their off the radar pop-up is delivering high-end cuisine good enough to raise a Michelin inspectors eyebrows." Their style described as "fine dining sans stuffy" is inspired by their training grounds at New York's Eleven Madison and Chicago's Alinea.
